Description: Near Lake Woodruff lies a state park with a giant semi-natural swimming pool. SeaReys are welcome to park beside the pool, though the shore is lined with water weeds. If so motivated, a pilot could wade ashore to the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant and order up a giant stack of pancakes.

During the late 1800’s this place was deemed to be a veritable fountain of youth. Advertisements touted a “healthy combination of soda and sulfur.” Apparently that sounded pretty good to some snowbound northerners.

I took my son up there 11 years ago to take his Open Water Cert. dive. Yeah, it's deep enough to qualify as open water!

I took off my mask and fins and set them on the on the rim on the top center of this picture and stepped back to relax and warm up on a park bench. 30 seconds later, I was grabbing them back from a migrant kid who thought they were a gift. His older buddy pulled a knife on me, which I slapped out of his hand with my fin. The rangers then expelled that group from the park. I had to turn the knife over to them.

While I'm strongly against illegal immigration, especially because most of them end up in indentured servitude, I think the US turned a blind eye for too long to require 15 million deportations (and the associated cost). Congress needs to address this during this lame duck session. Then we need to force the Mexican government to make comic books that teach them what wil happen if they do business with Los Coyotes!
