Hey Mike.....
Give us down here in the South a little 'ice lesson' as to how it gets that smooth and shiny versus the kind where its bumpy and too dangerous to land on....
Is it just a matter of windy / not windy when it freezes or what ??
( no jokin' -- closest I've been to ice is the freezer section of the 'fridge !! )

We just lucked out this year, there has been no snow since it got cold so the ice froze very smooth. There are pressure ridges in a couple of spots but they are very obvious when landing. It's a good thing because Charlie Pickett was going to have his new motor home converted to a giant Zamboni, now he doesn't have to.

It's also a blast to skate across a lake like that. We haven't had smooth ice without snow like this up here for many, many years.

But Mike, looks like your going to get snow tomorrow that'll ruin this.
