Description:
Here's a bit of SeaRey dashing, followed up by a bit of SeaRey splashing.
This is of the arc of windows in the northeast corner of the Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, at Dulles International Airport (KIAD). The edge of the huge roll-up hangar door is at right and the Center's 'control tower' is at the upper left. It's very hard to visualize the size of the building, even when looking at photos of it--and that's partly because everything in the vicinity is huge, too. It contains hundreds of aircraft, including a Space Shuttle, a B-29, a Concorde, and so many others that I can't even begin to name them. It's big.
Yesterday, Saturday, 16 June 2007, was 'Reach for the Sky' day at the Museum--a.k.a. 'Become a Pilot Family Day and Aviation Display.' You might recognize one of the display airplanes reflected in a few of the upper window panes.
