Description: Just a bit of the West Ramp. Once the public were briefed ('Don't touch anything!') and let out on the ramp I was so busy answering SeaRey questions that I never got much farther down the West Ramp this this. There was an Osprey way down there, behind the C5, an F-14, an F-16, a Warthog, and several other nifty airplanes.

Don - I don't see the C-5, but I do see a C-17. Almost certainly from my base at Charleston, S.C. The 17 will lift almost the same load as a C-5 but land almost as short as a C-130. Plus, it's way, way, way more reliable than the terrible C-5. Considering reliability and cost to operate, we could replace the entire fleet of C-5s (about 90 of them) with about a dozen 747s.

    C-17--you're right, Ken. Thanks!

By the way, the Museum Lady who organized the whole thing told me later that both the Osprey and the Huey broke down and couldn't leave when they were supposed to.
