Description: Thanks for all the kind words, much appreciated! I'll just stay on the couch for a while and heal (I've got a great nurse) Tomorrow I have hired a boom truck to lift the searey out of the trees and will get some photos.

I suppose you're going to tell us that all that alcohol is for medicinal purposes, eh?

I thought he found the engine problem. Good to see you in one piece.

Speedy recovery Dave. Sure glad you came through this well.

Stupid me, I thought that was phone in the your hand !
At least that's how I saw you last night on our way home from the Gaggle. You'll probably need pysio for the telephone arm set and the excessive pressure nursing that bottle.

Speedy recovery buddy...you and the airplane !
....& Martha on her great recovery skills.

In the picture you can see Dave at Dunlop central (Down Field - Shelburne) along with Dennis, 'Searey Rescue 1', with John doing another coordination call. (...Martha didn't want her picture taken). Attachments:

It was good to talk to you last night Dave. I think you did everything right given the circumstances. When the hell are you going to finish the baseboards? I don't know how Martha puts up with such a slacker.

Dave, If this photo documents your damage, a bumped Dynon and a bent left actuator, then I think you'll fly her again. You just need a soft reboot and a quick call to Bear Linear.

You know I have to ask this, right? Where's the video? The locals call you 'The Man Who Fell From The Sky', but we need video proof. Let me know when you recover the black box.

Steve D
From all accounts Dave you done did good man! You flew through all the nasty stuff.. ie) no panic... no stall... no power lines... AND you walked away from it.... everything else is just details buddy...enjoy your beer.

PS: there are VERY FEW circumstances where a parachute deployment makes sense... this was one of them... good call Dave.

Superior skill and airmanship! You performed the first step of ANY inflight emergency to perfection...'FLY THE AIRPLANE'. Everything else is secondary.

Dave, I am sure glad you are OK. I think we all hope that we don't have to go thru this type of thing. And I am really happy that you survived it so well. Keep your spirits up you are alive to fly again.
