I wasn't carrying my GPS, Bruno, but I can give you directions: go to the west side of the Oskhosh, Wisconsin airport and take a peak at the PA booth.

Dan, is that Ken Addison's 'Coast Guard' SeaRey, or a new one? And is PA selling the cowling? It looks a whole lot like Matt Toia's design --oh, now I remember Paige saying something about such a cowling, with the air intakes under the wings, like some AirCams.

Great Memory Don! You are correct it is a clone of Matt Toias cowling. I own his airplane now. Paige copied and improved on the design.

Phil, the first time I saw your SeaRey was at Oshkosh, about eight years ago, when it was one of two in PA's display. It had that cowling then, and got lots of attention. If Paige has cut the weight to 10 lbs, he's done well. Matt's weighed at least 20.

I don't know whether it adds any efficiency, the story I heard originally was that cowlings didn't, but it does make our little bird look a lot less like an ultralight.

Of course no one in their right mind would buy a plane because it looks good, would they?

That truly finishes off the airplane. I would gladly take the 10 lbs for those looks.

I would also think that the smoother airflow, due to the cowling, would improve the propeller efficiency.

That's the ticket, Bruno, but remember that the current version is only for SeaReys fitted with the 914. The 912/912S version is still in the conceptual phase.

Dan I know but I wake up during the night to think how I can remove this enormous muffler over this tiny engine. I saw ehaust on others but where always having problems with them the best one I saw was two 2 in one but rotax says that we need to have 4 in one because of the equal suction that gives the turbulance to empty the top of pistons. Similar to a 2 stroke. In the future a bench Dyno test with a jet adjustement for 2 in 1 ehaust might be a good thing to try.
