Description: It was warm and muggy here today--38 C when I took off at about noon, with a dewpoint of 22 C. I was heading for the lower James River at 800 feet AGL, but the haze was very thick and I soon decided to get to cool air instead. Turned southwest toward Lake Chesdin, while climbing at 70 mph with the flaps at about 5 degrees. At 8500 feet the 15 degree air coming in the canopies raised goosebumps on my arms. Ahhhhh! Sometimes it's good to get high.

Most of the haze was below and the sky above the clouds was blue.

For a minute one of the clouds got me thinking about Dilbert's pointy-haired boss. Maybe he'd start ranting and raving later in the afternoon.
