Description: The idyllic setting at the Tiki Hut soon turned ugly. Disaster struck under the gently swaying fronds.

Glancing at her new engagement ring, Janice gasped in horror. The diamond was gone! Lost! Missing in Action!

Janice remembered seeing it in the airplane. Jon denied his landing was so rough that it knocked out fillings and diamonds. Scott and Janice immediately set about the hunt. The rest of us figured we would need to eat first to build up strength for the hunt.

What are the odds of finding a diamond, even a large rock like Janice’s, in the hot sand or under the rippled waves of Lake Minneola? Not too good! That was our working theory as we ate our grilled tuna sandwiches and watched the beachcoming couple's desperate search.

Just when things were looking bleakest (my glass was more than half empty), another SeaRey arrived. Dick and Denise flew in from Spruce Creek. A conference was immediately convened to consider how we might use his SeaRey in the search. Jon and Scott wasted time wading around looking at the sand.
