It just galls me that there isn't some third world country that needs some of these ships! I know, 'it's the economics, stupid!', but I'd rather see them sailing than in my razor blade.

Me, too, Dan. From a few hundred feet away, they look to be in pretty good condition, but I suppose closer inspection might turn up the reasons why they're 'Dead.' But they still float.<br />      Attachments:

Hell, the Coast Guard could use 'em. They just got a bunch of ships lengthened by Northrop Grumman, I think, that aren't even seaworthy! A suggestion to give them to some of the Banana (Cocaine) Republics to use on rivers &amp; bays was discarded, because they didn't think they could make the trip across the Gulf.

When I called Felker AAB (Ft. Eustis) before entering their Class D airspace, the tower operator said, 'I have two lurkers just west of the runway.' When we got closer and low over the river we spotted two big helicopters, looking like dragonflies from hell, against the sky.

I used to do some fishing around those ships. I also sailed on a couple of them too. I think they would make some good dive sites.

Send them to Japan and they will come back as 500,000 Honda's

Honda's South Carolina plant would be a lot closer.
