Description:
The only water in sight at the Kingman Airport was from the SeaRey’s bilge.
The idea was to cross northern Arizona, part of the high Colorado Plateau (covering portions of CO, UT, AZ and NM). It is a stable region, with very little faulting or folding. I also expected it to be cooler due to its higher ground elevations. I wasn’t disappointed.
I was skeptical when the weather briefer warned that the GPS signals would be unreliable. “Unreliable? That’s never happened before.” Well, maybe not to me. Before. It happened to me this day.
For that reason, I decided to stick (mostly) to the I-40 fly-way.

Looks like Phil Mendleson was near your plane! Or were you just relieved to be on the ground?
