Wouldn't it be a blast to have a SeaRey to splash about on the Dead Sea? Imagine how much freeboard you'd have there!

Still brings a joyful tear to my eyes to see Oliver II being loved and enjoyed so much.

Roberta, I am very happy to see your comment. Yes, OliverII and I are having a great time togehter. Just completed the 500 hour oil change. I have given 71 different people rides since June 1 this year. Probably around 400 different riders overall. <br /><br />I gave a ride to a gentleman who is 70+ and flew Piper Cubs when he was young. He had not flown in over 40 years. He lives on the lake and, at the suggestion of a mutual friend, I pulled up to his dock one day and offered him a ride. He said it was the most exciting thing he has done in his life. I probably enjoyed it nearly as much as he did.

I am surprised that no body has noticed the 'problem' in this picture

What problem, Jeff? Don't <I>all</I> SeaReys have a dangling float jury strut or two?<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->

That's only a problem when both ends break off and then a few flights later someone says, 'That's odd....' And of course you don't have enough scrap tubing left to make a new one and when you get to West Marine you can't remember whether the Bimini top fittings you need are 5/8' or 3/4'.

Tom, that is pretty cool and probably would have prevented the broken eyelet. This is the first time I have broken an eyelet in over 2 years and it was caused by my own stupidity. I think my plan will be to fix it as is and not do that again. Thanks for the neat idea.

Tom, I recently busted another eye doing a hokey player sliding turn. So.....Now I am curious to learn how you did this. My interest is peaked. Can you post a plan or sketch? THANKS!

You got it Don. It was my own fault. For the purpose of approaching over the company picnic, I landed with a 17kt tail wind. The landing went fine. The problem came when I attempted the left step taxi turn from down wind to up wind. When I was cross wind, a gust hit and drove the left wing down. That did it. Fortunately I have extra eyelets and it was less than a 15 minute fix.
