Has anyone taken the floats off of a Searey and flown it for land use only? What would it do for the airspeed? Papa Charlie

Kerry told me once that taking off the floats increases the cruising speed by about 5 mph. I've never bothered to check his statement because if I wanted a landplane, I'd get one that didn't have a hull, either.
