Description: Note the altimeter setting. This high pressure system was sitting over northern Nevada a few days ago and was the cause of the Santa Ana winds fanning the flames in California. For Searey flyers in the center of the high it provided calm winds and clear skies for an aerial retracing of parts of the Reed/Donner Party's ill fated wagon train trip across Nevada.

You should update your software John!

It has the new software, but I am 'classic' kind of guy rather than 'modern'. More information than I need in the 'modern' selection.

Interesting, John. What is there in the modern display that you don't like and that can't be turned off? Or do you prefer the airspeed and altitude digital displays at the top, instead in the middle? Or...?

    John,
Just curious, which model is yours (D100 or D10A) and is it really this
readable in bright sunlight? Its incredibly sharp!
Frank
Here is an unretouched photo (except for cropping) of the 'modern' and 'classic' styles available at the push of a button on the Dynon D10A. The pilot(s) can select their preference. Plenty bright for me. Attachments:

John, if you had the remote compass and the OAT sensor, you could get the wind direction and speed on screen. I've found it very helpful in water ops, in situations when I wasn't sure which way the wind was blowing. You'd get TAS, too.

John, You'll also need a GPS data hookup to the Dynon for the winds.

Don Maxwell - Oct 29,2007 Viewers | Reply
Yes, that's right. Forgot. It's an easy connection to most GPSs.

What if your GPS output is bluetooth only?

    Frank,

Dynon offers for an additional $200, an 800 nit screen brightness instead

of the standard 400 nit brightness.

Supposedly easier to read in bright sunlight.

I think that's for the big one. This little one, the D-10A, is plenty bright enough.
