Description: Did I actually fly through that? A high stakes gamble won this time. The dice are not always so nice.

The barrier islands along this stretch of coast are characterized as “Mixed Energy Barriers.” They are the result of both tidal and wave action. They tend to be drumstick shaped and have large, stable tidal inlets. The inlets have both ebb and flood tidal deltas that act as huge reservoirs of sand.
