Description:
I could accept that Diego transitioned so easily to flying the SeaRey. He has both Citabria and ultralight (Challenger) time. It was the showing off that really rubbed it in!
The private airport we were at was immaculate and we were the only ones there. Diego told me it had been built for his friend’s G-IV, but then the Gulfstream had been traded in on a Husky, Extra 300 and some sailplanes. “A good trade,” I reckoned.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of the story. “My friend has just bought another Husky,” Diego told me. “A few months ago he landed long at the mountain airstrip I was telling you about, applied brakes heavily, and flipped over. Now he has a new one.”
That did not inspire me to visit the mountain strip in a SeaRey. If it’s tough for a Husky, it would be downright dangerous for a SeaRey.
