Don, you told me to always waiting for perfect conditions to fly. And when good conditions are to optimal their is no wind so when I,m in the air I wont wait until their is wind to be able to land so their is always glassy water when I fly and land. This is called a vicious cercle hein. Youll say I have noting to say by writing this hein...? Its true...hahaha

Yeah. I end up doing lots of semi-glassy water landings here in Virginia, especially below the fall line, where most of the rivers widen out. But the water is rather muddy, so you can see the surface at a distance, even though it gets mirror-like down low. Well, maybe that's worse in a way than your conditions, where there's no doubt about what technique you'll use for landing. I did a couple of splash-and-goes on the James River near Hopewell yesterday. From 200 feet up the surface was easy to see. But below about 100 feet it became almost invisible and didn't seem to have any visible substance until the step was within a meter of it, when the slight undulations became apparent.

I'll attach a video of one of those splash-and-goes. I made it to yank the chain of a landplane pilot friend who has been bragging about his new sailboat. (City Point is now a National Park.)

Hey Don, Carol told me she got tired of holding the camera for so many takes to get that nice landing! Just kidding, very smooth, a good example of how power on will keep you out of trouble.
