Hi Lee:

Great work Lee and beautiful pictures. I know the 'feeling' (or lack thereof) when you open the side window to 'point and shoot'........ it takes five minutes to restore blood circulation to the semi-frozen hand. (g)

Don't give up the season yet, just 'migrate' southward to the tropical delights of the Niagara peninsula. (g)
No snow at all yet and both Lake Ontario and the Grand River are free of ice.
Last year I flew all winter long (the A-24 has a decent cockpit heater so it was quite comfortable). I made water landings all through December on Lake Ontario with the last water landing on January 12 (Grand River). Admittedly, last December was quite an anomaly but the long range weather forecasts are calling for a mild December again this year.

Best,
Larry

Yes Larry, the open canopy has a certain effect upon us northerners.
Do you think that those funny BLUE pills would help to provide more blood flow when the canopy is open?
Or could this create a flight safety issue, as the control movement may be restricted, or result in a so-to-speak cross control situation. Maybe this is not such a great idea in a cockpit?

Be careful, Lee... You wouldn't want to stiffen up your control stick in flight. Plus, you'll have to stay up for over an hour.

Safety hazard??? come on Lee, Diane said that the blue pills aren't working, so she had to stock up on popsicle sticks and duct tape!

    Lee,
Great pictures and narrative. Something seems sad however about a SeaRey in the Snow.

Bruno Grondin - Nov 30,2007 Viewers | Reply
No Frank, dont be sad....SkiRay is comming.... Time has come, we are ready now.... We are the chosen one.... hahahaha.... Just to say I'll put my skies on my Searey soon.... Just waiting for the lake to freeze.

    Bruno,
I can't wait for YOUR lake to freeze--especially since you are looking forward to your skis. OUR lakes hardly
cool down. Pool is still 85F.
I lived in Maryland for 40 years and the sight of snow on my boats was similarly sad.
Have fun with the SkiRey!

Diane and I visited the strip today, only to find more snow, and more cold. -8C.
Since it's now December, I am starting to feel some sort of XMAS thing.
Gerry Peskett was offering xmas trees, if you cut them.
Well we found the ugliest tree we could find, and got cold and wet to boot. Attachments:

Sorry, Charlie Brown, but the tree still looks lame. At least Diane looks good, BTW I don't see my present under there. Martha says that she has a few extra lights if you need to borrow some. Attachments:

Lame. My mother-in-law 'likes' the tree.
and that's all that matters on XMAS day.

Looks like all those lights on your tree gave you a power brown-out condition.
Merry Cristmas.
