Description:
I took a guy flying yesterday from KFCI to his own seaplane base, 2G6. That's on the Appomattox River, just west of where it joins the James.
He registered it as an official SPB when he had a 172 on straight floats. But he got tired of being stuck on the water and sold the 172 a few years ago.
Lately he's gotten interested in SeaReys and wanted to see how it felt to fly in there in one. We did a couple of passes and then landed in the river and taxied up his ramp to the hangar, which now has a big front-loader in the middle of it--temporarily, I suspect.
That's his father at left, also a pilot. It was late in the afternoon, with low sun and shadows, and the wind had dropped off. The official high temp for the day was 79 F, the record high for the date.
The dog wanted to go flying--tried to jump into McGlaughlin's lap when we arrived and he figured out who was in the right seat.
Man, I love SeaReys! (Okay, Matt. Aventuras, too.)
