Description: After watching Dan, John and others wax poetic with their cameras I post this as a reminder of the forlorn state of the northern fleet.
Hey guys it’s March 14 and the snow up here is 18” to 24”in spots!
The photo does not show it but this little SUV with snow tires would not have made it in the 500 feet from the road without the assist of a tractor mounted snow blower..

Too bad, John. Norway is actually much warmer than your place even if situated much farther north. This year we have had little snow - and the salty fjords are mostly free of ice year round. The ground is still frozen, but the top layer has thawed and the bravest flowers have shown their heads around the house. Thank god for the Gulf Stream which carries a lot of energy up from the Caribbean to Norwegian shores!

Yes Bård, I remember it well from when I lived in Sweden as a boy. And the long days of summer too! The only Scandinavian country that I have never visited is Norway. I'll have to come for a visit someday!

You'll get royal treatment, John! There's a spare bedroom and spare bathroom waiting for you, in addition to a summer cottage.

Well we have had 10' of snow this year but when we left it was beginning to clear. I brought one of my computers to Bangkok to get it fixed cheap and now we are in Koh Samui soaking up a few rays to keep us warmed till Spring.

Thinking of you guys, . . . . . . .

John Robert Dunlop - Mar 20,2008 Viewers | Reply
Must be nice Chris! First day of spring and I'm twiddling my thumbs with Final Inspection complete but two difficult snags to clear (non-TSO seat belts and non TC Journey Log.) The snow is still at least 12-18' around the hangar and the wx guys now say that we will have to wait another 6 weeks for spring-like weather! Don't hurry back!

John - I have recently moved to Adelaide in South Australia. We have just recorded 16 days in a row of
temperatures exceeding 100 deg F. This is the longest run of heat wave conditions in Adelaide since
recording began in 1850.
Definatley no snow in sight from where I sit. Can you send some snow down my way? Ross Vining

Crikey! (It's on its way Canada Post!)

Ross, northern Maine broke their all-time snowfall record last weekend, and the season isn't over. I'll send you some snow too, if you send us some heat. It may be spring here (calendar), but temps are still below normal.

    Ross,
I thought I read recently that your long draught had finally been broken in S. Australia, no?
