Description: From the left:
Jan and Tom Gledhill who drove up with Randy Johns (holding the beer can.) Dan Nickens was supposed to deliver Randy’s SeaRey but a dead transponder stopped the ferry flight at Randy’s home field in Michigan. So when they arrived at Silver Lake, Randy (mother, Jan, & Tom) had never seen a SeaRey before. Randy was certainly all smiles after his first flight (concluded just before dinner!)
Don and Carol Maxwell braved the logistics of getting here from Virginia. Little did they know as they raised their wine glasses that it would be such an adventure getting home! Next to the right is my good friend Gerhard Riechers all the way from Barsinghausen Germany. Gerhard took most of the photos and operated my video camera from the co-pilot seat of PTQ (before, during and after the Gaggle.) Finally Bill Watkins (the steak man!) who is flying off his 25 hours in Peterborough, Ontario and Grant Pronishen who is building a SeaRey in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Missing from the photo are Frank and Skyler Noordhuis and Lee and Jan Coulman who arrived later in the week..

Thanks for saving the day with Randy, John. We were both disappointed by his missing SeaRey. At least you alleviated some of Randy's disappointment by giving him a flight fix, good food, and much-appreciated camaraderie. I worked off some frustration at being trapped below the border with some splashing in Lake Michigan. Sigh. Maybe next year?

Yeah we sure missed having you up here Dan. <br />But all three SeaReys were pressed into local flights and some actually got several rides in a plane (I know Randy flew twice with me and also with Don.)

We missed you, Dan. It must have been frustrating for you not to be able to get anyone to fix the transponder.
