Description: Final approach to runway 13 at Alpine Airpark(46U), Wyoming on the edge of Palisades Reservoir (open to seaplanes) at the confluence of the Snake and Grey's Rivers about 35 miles south of Jackson Hole. Homes, hangar apartments and lots available. Pleasant summer weather, brutal in winter!

    John, engine failure at this point, you'd better hope you have the 'Lima Gear's' 5 second gear cycle and a quick finger! What's up with you airline guys and your 3 degree slope? LOL

    This is the high water point due to Spring/Summer snowmelt and runoff. In the Fall this would be dirt under us. The lake is about 12 miles long and we flew from the north end to Alpine Airpark at the south end a few hundred feet off the water with the gear up, then put the gear down at a normal glidepath angle. Carolyn was doing the photography.
