Description: Carol and I flew down the James River to our friend Tommy's place to watch him and Skip flying a hang glider launched from a boat. There was lots of splashing and dashing!

We were afraid to get too close to the glider, so these photos are a bit distant and blobby..

To launch the glider, they rest it on a platform amidships on the boat. The towline--about 3000 feet of it--is wound on a large reel in the stern.

The glider is actually very colorful, but the UV-blocking clearcoat on it often fools the digital camera into thinking it's white.
