Description: Below the shallow water of the bay lay a drowned stream. Its origin was a matter of some speculation in the airplane.

“It could have been a giant tree that fell here and rotted away leaving its imprint in the mud.”

“That tree would have to have been 1000’ tall.”

“Yes, well, that would fit proportionally with the humongous woolly mammoths that rampaged here during the Ice Age. You can still see their footprints around the tree cast.”

“It seems much more likely that it is simply a meandering tidal stream.”

“Oh, sure. Then how do you explain the giant hoof prints?”

“Those require closer examination.”

“Get as close as you want, except don’t land Peli in the salt.”
