    Twice I got to splash it, Don, and it was delightful, but both times it was in still water behind dams. I don't doubt that a high inhospitability index is warranted for many sections.

    Oh! Sorry, Dan, I had confused the Snake with another river in that general area, one that the Bureau of Reclamation wanted closed to seaplanes. Now I remember that it was the upper Missouri.
