Description:
Cavanaugh Bay (66S) was our campsite of choice with hot showers, restaurant, MOGAS and a choice of beaching or landing on the airstrip. The airstrip was due to close for returfing in 2 days. It was so rough the day we landed that a Cessna 206 on amphib floats bounced out one of his float plugs, which we found along with a nav light lens on an evening hike down the runway to see if we had shaken anything loose.

I thought Virginia was a pretty good state for seaplanes. But it doesn't have any public airports in such a lovely location as this.

Did you hear anything about the SeaRey owner based on Priest Lake, John? He was still there in 2005 when I passed through but I haven't heard anything about him since.
