Now that's what I'm talking about...some real piloting skills in a tight situation! I would be very careful flying over this area even with a Spot, Fred. It could be part of the Kootenay triangle. Notice how the pickup engine is smoking and on the verge of failure?

Fred: you said the owner rebuilt the carbs and the engine was running again. Did he find something specific wrong with the fuel system? Usually carbs wearing give some sort of warning before just crapping out. Given I just robbed the thread for a technical matter, will you flop over to the tech site and answer this?
