Description:
We've had a great week here. The RAPCAN annual convention for ' The 'Retired Airline Pilots of Canada ' was held east of us in Kingston On. As part of the convention,I organised a visit to Trenton Airforce Base. Rather than drive, my ex Flight Commander at # 401 Fighter Sqn., St. Hubert Quebec, and I flew there in VMU. It was CAFB here in Picton with a ' risk of low stratus ' fcst at YTR. We got 14 miles east of Trenton and ran into a fog bank along the Bay of Quinte and the tower advised us, ' Trenton is now below special VFR limits...go ahead your intentions...' We advised that we would maintain VFR and orbit , waiting for limits. ' Roger...stay clear of the airport to the south...An Annotov and an Airbus are estimating in :15 mins.' A minute later , we had limits and carved in to r/w 24...10,000' in length.

Your old squadron commander must have great confidence in you, Dave. Good show.
