Dan when you fly like this it must be hasardous for down wind and turbulances, Your plan B was this little Green river down their, or where their another one closer or under you ? And I can see yhat you have a SPOT device on your panel, do you like it ?
I have many questions Dan thismorning hein.... And yes this winter I'll go south I'm suppose to go to Vero Beach during Christmas time.

I was 2000' over the river, Bruno, hugging the cliffs. The contingency plan involved putting Peli down on the water or on the river bank. There were some rocky places in the plan where the water turned white, but somewhere within gliding distance was hope.

This would have been a brutal flight on a windy day, but conditions were perfect for smooth sailing through the canyon.

If the wind had been blowing I would have been content to be well above the rocks for a 'God's-eye' view. Wind in the rocks is not to be trifled with.

My opportunistic flight path (some would say 'erratic') is not conducive to a traditional FAA flight plan. The orange Spot messenger sends a position signal to satellites at a regular intervals. Ann can check their web site to see where I am. If a Steve Fossett situation occurs, she can find Peli's remains (if she gets curious). In case of a real emergency, I have the government issued EPIRB to ring 911.

Spot was not so good at sitting in one place, Don. There is a clip on the back that would work great on a belt, but not so good on a flat surface.

Is there carpet on the glareshield (must be a better word for it--dashboard? --flat place?)? If so, how about a bit of stick-on Velcro, the hooky part?

Peli has a nice vinyl glareshield, Don, but stick-on Velcro will be just the ticket for a shaggy N220WT.
