Description:
You know temptation is going to be intense when two minutes into the flight you’re over a major river. The Arkansas River was just south of the airport at Pogue.
Day five (Saturday) of the ferry flight looked to be a short one with little time for river exploration. A potential customer was ready to claim Peli in Little Rock, Arkansas. After a projected flight of only four hours, that would be a premature ending to our return home.
An early ending looked like a smart plan. A major hurricane projected to land along the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast would greatly complicate the strategy for getting back to Orlando anyway.
“Who cares? The dramatic scenery is behind us.”
“Aesop’s sour grapes?”
“We shall see.”
