Description: This beaver didn’t have to make a dam on the stable water of the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. The Corpse of Engineers built a dam for him to form the Kerr Reservoir. The DOT then built a bridge across the big lake for I-40.

In 2002 a tugboat captain blacked out as he tried to push his barge under the bridge. The barge smacked into a support and knocked down the bridge. Fourteen people drowned. The beaver didn’t notice.
