Description: “Check that out: houseboats on the river. Do you think they know a hurricane is one the way?”

“The hurricane should pass well to the west.”

“How do they know that?”

“The Weather Channel. Anyway, what do you think they could do if it came this way?”

“Leave.”

“Maybe they could just motor on up the river.”

“They wouldn’t get far. There is a dam about five miles north.”

“How about if they just go to the boat ramp and pull out?”

“That wouldn’t be bad…until the wind blew them down the road.”

“Well, they could fill the hull with water after they pulled it ashore.”

“Great. That would assure that it would sink when the 15’ tidal surge pushed up the river.”

“Okay. Maybe they should just leave.”

“Maybe we should too.”
