Description: When Fall arrives in South West Florida we transplants don't get to share in all the wonders of those of you up North. We don't get to see the colors (or raking the falling leaves), we have no frost or, gads, snow or ice nor sinking SeaReys; when our temps plummet we're talking 50's or 60's so we hardly get to use our old sweaters or leather flight jackets; the Gulf is down to the 70's, and the solar panels can hardly heat the pool anymore. That's why we're thankful for seeing the wonderful PHOTOS of Fall and Winter that you all post here; that' how we like our cold weather--in photos. Thanks for the memories.

Oh, Frank. That's pathetic! It's almost December and all you have there is green and blue. Tsk! You need a vacation.

Yeah, Frank, if you want some new color come on up to Central Florida. The cypress are starting to turning something other than green. Attachments:

Yikes! Dan, is that a sewage lagoon, or something?

Dan Nickens - Nov 30,2008 Viewers | Reply
Or something....it's a lake that has been sent over the eutrophic edge by fertilizers and pesticides from adjoining farms.

To my fellow 'northerners' who so generously assisted in the upcoming 'project'. As was approved by email vote, I have sent several nasty Italian friends of mine down to Florida to 'deal' with these folk. I know it is an expensive 'contract' but well worth it. Their instructions are to stuff each of the picture posters into the trunk (not heated) and drag them back up to Buffalo, where each is to be released at least one mile from the city limit. They were also instructed to NOT donate so much as a sweat shirt, but to 'turn them loose' in whatever clothing they were wearing when picked up.

'Fall/winter colors' indeed!

My thanks also for your cash donations to this project. I have to say that of the many suggestions you provided, I liked Bruno's 'swimming race' across the channel, chopped in the ice of his lake, the best. Dave Lima's Christmas barefoot race the length of his runway was also highly applauded. Dennis, being an engineer, had the most novel idea, but forcing these folk to climb up rattlesnake bluff while naked employing only some old wire cables (removed from a Searey at last annual) seemed a bit 'over the top'. John Dunlop's suggestion of providing them with skates and having them join us in an old fashioned 'pond hockey game' had the greatest personal appeal and would have kept our costs down, but alas, this was voted down.

Have a nice 'Hitch Hike' guys.

Best,
Larry

Now, seriously, Larry, you don't expect your Italian friends to drive back to Buffalo, do you?
