I've never seen a Searey with pontoon struts like this. Did PA supply these or are thay custom made?

Tom, I think Micheal Jaworski either created these or had them created. He use to be a Searey hired gun who built more than a few Seareys.

Tom - the original struts were supported with a U shaped frame made of the lightweight tubing. This one was wrapped with something (PVC?) to dress it up.

Ken,
Having recently taken off the old style and installing the new streamlined sponson struts, I can tell you that this is defintely not the original setup covered with PVC.
He's got the new style channel bracket connected to the floats and it appears to be welded to the front sponson strut.
It would be interesting to see more pictures of this and find out if there was a specific reason for doing it this way.

Tony, I agree with you. I also updated the old U strut to the latest streamlined strut at the same time that I replaced the B hull with the C hull. I have not seen this sponson strut setup before.

They are welded aluminum made out of aerodynamic spar type material.

http://www.pbase.com/flyrod/image/106988956/large.jpg
