Description: The ice in the cove is about 6' thick, so today, I will try to clear a r/w with the tractor and talk Dave into landing and pick me up for another fun day.Even better,I might try to get VMU out of the hangar and down onto the ice.
No heater in his Storch so we dress warmly. Eat your hearts out you Floridians.

Dave, your photos are exceeded only by your enthusiasm and optimism. While we eat our hearts out, we are suffering through blue waters, blue skies, green grass, and swaying palms. "Some like it pink and some like it blue." My hat is off to you hearty folk!<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->

Dave King could probably get the Storch in and out of your hangar field, Dave. That thing seems to take off almost straight up and it turns almost on its own wingtip.<br /><br />But the ice in the cove would be a lot easier. Can you get your SeaRey down the slope without sliding?

Got up this morning to see -20* C....4* F....on the thermometer. Had a hell of a time starting the big Kubota diesel tractor even though it had been plugged in. Yesterday, with the wind chill, it was -40*. Not much fun plowing, but the fireplaces are going, so what the hell. We return to Mexico on the 31st. Believe it or not, I enjoy this stuff.

Hi Jon:<br /><br />LOL!!<br /><br />It is built into our Canuck genes. (g)<br /><br />I recall a hilarious note that circulated on the net a few years ago comparing Canuck/Floridian responses to falling temps. It included a temperature graph with associated 'activities' found in each group. The one I recall was 50 degrees F........<br />-Floridians declare state emergency - shortages of heating fuel - heavy parkas issued by National Guard etc.<br />-Canucks reluctantly don 'tee shirts'<br /><br />I have to say that I envy you rascals down south when the temperatures drop to those noted by good pal Dave (at the colder end of Lake Ontario) (g)<br /><br />Best,<br />Larry
