Description:
It was a bit of a shock to see a big old manatee swimming out in the Gulf in January. Normally they congregate in the springs where the water is always a balmy 72 degrees. This year with the warm temperatures they can cruise out into the big water. I’m guessing this guy is a big fan of global warming. I hope he made it back to the spring before this latest cold front hit!

It could be the same one, Don, but I can't be certain. The young ones and old ones all look alike to me. Only a mermaid could tell for sure.

That is a very good picture of young Chris. I didn't know your camera was underwater rated (or was this a one time shot?).

I've drowned more cameras than one, Dan. But in this case it's a frame from a video that our 'Swim With The Manatees' guide shot with a cam in a plastic box.
