Description: I thought I'd post a few just to let you guys know that although I'm not on the site a lot, I'm still flying my butt off and looking out for Dan and his little red shoes. These pics are all (low res versions) from the new Rebel XS and I am loving that .1 sec shutter speed!!!!! Stop in at 6TN1... we'll leave the light on for ya... seriously, if you're heading to SNF and we're on you're way, we have a guest room or a separate 'guest trailer' at the end of the runway.

I was in your neck of the woods last week and gasoline was 50 cents a gallon cheaper than in the Orlando area. You must be saving major money flying up there!

Hey Bret, looking good. Any BIG bass in that lake? Was hoping that we would be able to visit each other some since we are close togather. BUT time changes things. Regretfully I have finally chosen to sell the Searey. Have allready sold the Champ and the Powered parachute. Ad can be seen on Barnstormers. Anyone know of anyone interested in a Searey, if so please help me sell this plane. I will be keeping the grass airstrip open for friends interested in landing here or keeping your plane here.
I was looking forward to seeing you build a runway on the first piece of property you purchased. Work you BUTT off time. Lots of money and lots of time in building your own grass strip. You probably made the best decision in buying at Weakely Field. House sure looks great. Those Kids sure are growing. I can see Elvis flying the Rey soon.

BLUE SKY

Charlie
Bret made a great decision in moving to Weakley field. Instead of creating his own airstrip he got to take it easy building the house and hanger Now he has it all, looks great Bret!

Hey guys thanks! Charlie, I'm sorry to hear you're selling off your inventory, especially that peach of a SeaRey you built. I figured we'd cross paths more often too. Now that I've 'finished' the house and the hanger is up I am flying a lot more and ready to do more trips. I'm planning a hop over your way in late June to play with friends over on Melton Hill Lake and then I'll probably head over to Knoxville and then to Hot Springs, NC for the 4th of July (if I can find an airstrip anywhere in the area. There used to be one in Newport, TN but the map's not showing that one anymore...) Anyway, so maybe I can try out that strip of yours on the way there or back.

I did luck out finding this lot here at Weakley Field. Its just perfect. That other place would have taken me 10 years of hard work and twice the money and it still wouldn't be as nice. Plus, its great living with other pilots and their families. We're in and out of each others houses and hangers all the time. Great people that we love to go through life with (except for the one guy that got his feelings hurt and now goes against everything we try to do around here. I guess every group has one of those... he has a nice RV and a tricked-out hanger but never flies, his latest escapade is to sit by his window and cycle the newly installed pilot controlled lighting to run the power bill up. We finally had to flip the breaker. So much for that). Other than that deal this place is just lovely.

Dan, make sure you bring Jon up here with you. I'll be putting the front and back walls up on the hanger this summer and I know you ain't worth a nickle when it comes to work

Ausom property Bret. Can you land on water and land there?Seems you have enough land for a grass strip.

Bret Smith - Mar 05,2009 Viewers | Reply
Hey Ed. How are you? We have a 3500 ft grass runway w/ lights and VASI. 12 lots share it. Only 5 are occupied as of date. Most others are sold but selling one's home and moving is tough these days so new construction is moving slowly. We got really lucky on our timing. We got out of Rhode Island just before the housing bubble starting losing air...

No water landings here. Ponds are not big enough for my skills.

I'll make a note of your location. Every May I fly from Orlando to Cincinnati, OH. I
usually overnight in Dalton GA. Hey why dont we organize a Gaggle in Lake Norris or
Cumberland?
