Description: After the disappointment of not being able to fly off with Fancy Pants, it was time for lunch. Way down upon the Suwannee River there was good old country comfort cookin' waiting. Country fried steak, green beans, fried okra, cornbread and apple cobbler. “Ya’ll come back soon, ya hear,” was the warm farewell after an unhealthy but filling meal.

Dan, is that the COE Suwannee? It looks almost straight enough just there.

Can't credit the Corpse of Engineers for this stretch, Don. You can blame the underlying limestone fracture, though. There is a beautiful spring just a few hundred yards north.

I sure enjoyed watching the clear spring water curling into the tannin-brown river water when John and I flew over a couple of years ago.

Sounds like Mary's Kountry Kitchen on the way to Orlando North Dan. Hope the cooking was bit better on the Suwannee.

It was every bit as artery-clogging as Mary's, mate. You didn't miss a thing!

If my dad saw this he would say, 'get that tail outta the water!'
