Description: When the flight is delayed long past a prudent landing slot, it helps to have moonshine to guide the way home. Unfortunately light like this happens only “once in a blue moon.”

From The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

By Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The moving Moon went up the sky.
And nowhere did abide;
Softly she was going up,
And a star or two beside-

Silver

By Walter de la Mare

Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy coat the white breasts peep
Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws, and silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

    I have really enjoyed some great photography that you guys have put on here.
I ran across some very good Alaskan photos by a guy flying a Super cub. No floats
(Although the tundra tires would almost do it) but great pictures in the greatest of lands. If
you are interested: http://shaunlunt.typepad.com/

    Don, That is a great site....I think someone posted it up here quite awhile ago, and I think that Mr Lunt was tragically killed in a flying accident...
