Description: Noting the obvious hazards to SeaReys due to extreme facilities, Col. Gracy has graciously donated an emergency rescue craft to the Howey-in-the-Hills Catherder Forward Base. It is a unique design....a folding boat, or 'Fold-a-Bote.' I'm pretty sure they don't sell a lot of them. (Note to self: next time WEAR the PFD.)

What's it weigh? Can you strap it to the maule's float struts?

Actually, they do sell a lot of them...up here anyway.

What are the dimensions when it's folded?

Thanks, Dan. Unfortunately, I don't see any photos there of a folded Bote lashed to a SeaRey. But you could carry it just fine on your Maule.

That's an idea, Eric, but I'm thinking it would be better to carry an inflatable. It is really light, though.

Ha! I was afraid it was going to fold up on me when I had to crawl inside to open it, Jamie!

    Dan
I noticed you have attached it to the struts with the rear to the front of the aircraft - That tells me you were
NOT actually planing to fly with it!

Well, you are right, Ross. I'm not planing to fly with it. That's someone else's plan!

Look, it's got wheels, it must be an amphibian too!

We just took two of those flat boats up to northern Canada for a trout expidition. They work great strapped to the float struts on a 185 Amphib. We got pretty good at folding and unfolding as we fished the rivers.
