Description: This Prescott Pusher will fly 'soon,' according to the builder, who was changing the oil in the big turbocharged Subaru engine today. He said progress was stopped for four years because he had to sue somebody about the engine. He won, but doesn't think he'll ever be paid.

He said the Subaru's redline for takeoff is 6500 rpm. The geared prop is a short, steeply-pitched two-blader with winglets at the tips of the blades.

An older gentlemen from my eaa chapter was building a prescott. We all went down to the airport (TTN) to see the engine run. A jet engine (don't recall the type). I believe the project outlived the builder. Some fun facts about this most dangerous airplane:

http://www.airplanezone.com/Oshkosh/Scrapbook2003/page75.htm
l

see history at the bottom of the page

I always wondered what happend to this guy. I talked to him 6 years ago when I had my plane at FCI and he said then, that he was close to flying it.

I would suggest that this builder get in touch with Ole Sindberg (subject of Eric's reply). I've known Ole for over 40 years. His building and flying experience is very extensive. Having flown in Ole's Prescot, I question the use of the Subaru engine. Also this airplane requires an experienced and skilled hand on the stick, particularly during the flight testing phase. It's not a low time pilot's toy.

Good idea, Jay. He's probably already done so--but I'll stick a note through his hangar door anyway.
