Thomas:

I'm sorry that I couldn't make it down there this past weekend. Looks like a really nice place there and everyone had a good time. Glad you finally got your 'fly-in'. It was good to meet you and talk with you back in October at the picnic. Was wondering what the sizes are of thoughs 3 garage doors. When do you get your kit?

Scott

The 2 front doors are standard width 8' tall garage doors. The By-fold Hanger door in the back of the garage is 33' x 9' . I should have gone with 35' x 10'.

To protect your wing tips as you pass through the door, you may want to mount wheel bumpers (or at least tape on the floor) to see/align the tires for the clearance.

Good idea Ken, I have a line in the center of the floor works every time (so far)

I am going to get that yellow and black stripe tape to apply to the floor where the wheels should go. I would need to get that tow bar thing to drag it into the garage tail first.

    Thanks, I was just curious.

Perfect! I wish our tax code made it feasible for me to have connected the hangar to our house, like yours.

Well it is a 5 stall 4 car garage with a hanger door. I don't think it was told to the county that it was a hanger.

It's just a big garage with a big door that happens to fit all sorts of big things, like an airplane.

    just curious,
What sort of beam did you need to use to support the roof trusses where hangar door is?

Thomas Alexander Bowden - Feb 24,2010 Viewers | Reply
    It's 8' x 3' x 37' pored cement with re-bar sitting on cement block filled with re-bar and cement
