I wonder if the SeaReys partake of Lake Hartwell for water ops?

As long as any of the lakes were not 'Corp' lakes, they were hoppin' in and out of them. Don told me a story of a guy with a lake amphibian who tried to get around the problem by registering his aircraft as a 'vessel' and thereby gaining access to the water rights for recreation and ingress/egress. Wow, what a pain in the hull bottom!
Also, I couldn't believe how beautiful that area was. I was skimming along in MVFR trying to cut through an area of low clouds and kind of out of the mist was this gorgeous series of lakes and the airport. I was immediately struck by the fact this was a perfect ASEL paradise and sure enough so did these guys.

The reason I asked is that we have a summer place on Hartwell which is indeed a Corps of Eng Lake. The SPA Directory lists it as closed. But I found a CoE sign at one of their boat ramps "warning that mooring of seaplanes overnight is prohibited...". I've been wondering if the implied meaning is that seaplane operations ARE permitted? And, yes, now that the lake has come back from 23 feet down to 'full pool' it is an especially nice area. Also, KAND nearby is a nice but underutilized municipal airport.

Frank, I know what the Water Landing Directory says, but it's such a lovely lake that I've had to splash in it a couple of times while flying through the area. I saw lots of big power boats and figured that one more brief wake wouldn't do any great harm.

Well Don, those "precautionary landings" due to possible intermittent oil pressure readings avoided having to moor your aircraft overnight, so all is well. On summer weekends the boat wakes are indeed numerous, weekdays it can be nearly boatless.
