Long ago, at Andover Aeroflex, my instructor pilot took me on an evening flight in a 152 so we'd get back after dark. Returning to the grass strip, he said he wanted me to practice landing with no airport lights in case I couldn't get the lights to come on. As I was lining up, he said to not descend below 50'. I asked why and he said to watch for eyeballs. As we flew over, I could see a sea of eyeballs. We turned on the runway lights to watch about 30 dear on the runway. They moved away and we landed. It was illuminating.

Long ago my late father told me, if you'r doing a landing at cow pasture and there is no wind direction reference; look at the cows, most of them stand but to the wind.

In this photo, he seem to be landing dounwind or the cows are confused! What's the
story?
