Description: Splash or Dash?
The splasher is a 15 year old “Clifton Street Built” 80 hp. The dasher is a HD Twin Cam 95’er salvage, rebuilt to run balls out on California auto E10 pump gas.
Ah, the tough decisions.

No question around my household. My wife (an RN for 35 years) won't let me ride motorcycles. There too dangerous. But my Searey is fine. It's much safer.

My wife says the same thing. I owned several in the BM (Before Marriage) years and loved them. A doctor friend relayed that the most prolific source of organ donations are from motorcycle riders - to the point where the staff at his clinic refer to motorcyclists as 'donorcyclists'.

But they are still 'FUN AS HELL' to ride.

i got to go for a ride in a stearman one time and the guy who owned it said that flying that plane is like riding a motorcylce with wings. Instantly a great feeling.

Maybe we need to to say flying a Searey is better and safer than riding a motorcycle. Did
you ever try landing a motorcycle on water? It only works once. And as for fun, well just
try them both... If you don't get killed on that bike you will see.

    Really?
Both should be approached stone sober with a healthy degree of respect backed by continued study and training, and I accept the risks of both endeavors.

But, let's lighten up as this has veered toward a discussion more suited to the tech site. On this social site, I was hoping to see what others are riding.

Did you notice AOPA is offering motorcycle insurance now???

Don Maxwell - Oct 22,2010 Viewers | Reply
No, but I have noticed that they've branched out and are providing support for aviation once in a while now. Don't worry, though: they're being careful not to let it interfere with the insurance sales, the ambulance chasing biz, the faith healing, the annual fatcat sales event on Long Beach Mountain, and of course those fabulous wine tasting parties that we've all come to know and love.
