Tuesday at SnF I met up with a young gent standing by a beautifully built Kitfox homebuilt airplane. His scout troop built it over the last 2 years, the airplane had passed it's final inspections and was going to make it's first flight Monday after the show. They were selling raffle tickets for the airplane with the funds to go to the purchase of the next aircraft.

On Thursday the tornado hit and the aircraft was totaled. The only thing salvageable from it was the tires. No insurance.

Friday morning first thing they set up a table with a sign: FREE COFFEE!!!! When you approached the table they had photos of the wreck and a small jar asking for help. Later the wreckage was released from impound and they set up a wing, asking passersby to sign it with messages of encouragement. Someone got a message to the Master Chief of the Blue Angels and he added his signature to the wing. You could tell the Master Chief was impressed with the project and he took a great deal of time to talk to the gent. After the airshow Saturday Jeff was able to meet the Team one on one.

The gent in the pics has been accepted at Embry-Riddle, they've already had a few others move into the industry. One girl was so good she was hired by PolyFiber covering as a rep.
