Description: This 'reservior'? is located just west of the peace river... north of Charlotte County Airport. The exposed sides are made of cement in a 'stair case' arrangement...looks like a giant swimming pool! Really an inviting landing area...but I hesitate...

I think it was built for SeaRey practice. Or not. Are you sure it's not a waste
treatment facility; or worse, owned by the Corpse of Eng.?

I like that new spelling, Corpse!

The spelling Don was neither accidental nor original--I think I'm copying Dan.

Could be, Frank...I really don't know...I would like to know how they got so much cement out to that area???

I think I'm with Frank on this one. Looking at Google Maps, there is what looks to be a treatment facility about a mile to the east, with connecting roads, and structure on the banks of the Peace River. The treatment units look to be more like sewage treatment than water treatment, but I'm willing to be proved wrong! I would be interested to know what it is, having been in the wastewater/water engineering field since '78, albeit not in America.

The RV Griffin Reserve in DeSoto County is part of a public water supply system, but I'm not saying anything about the quality of the water they supply! Attachments:

Re SeaRey use, the following note from Desoto Rec Area restrictions might be
applied by some:

(prohibited...).' other motorized vehicles not licensed for Florida highway use.'

Thanks! I learned something new about my own area!
