Someone has said there is no “Sea” in SeaRey. I’m guessing they just never looked for it. Attachments:

Looks like the gear are down in 'some like it rough' picture, no wheels in site.

Dan Nickens - Jun 20,2011 Viewers | Reply
Well, that would explain it! (Except if you look closely through the spray you'll see a tire next to the strut and conclude that the pilot must be crazy.)

Remember, no touch n go's on lake Louisa.

Dan Nickens - Jun 18,2011 Viewers | Reply
I don't remember that. Who says?

Troy iRMT Heavy Maint. Enriquez - Jun 19,2011 Viewers | Reply
i read it in the seaplane directory.

Dan Nickens - Jun 19,2011 Viewers | Reply
Do you mean the Seaplane Pilots Association directory? If so, there is no listing for Lake Louisa.

its in mine. i dont remember the title. i was surprized to see that. I wll check the title when i
get to the plane.

Perhaps what you are remembering, Troy, is the entry for Lake Louise. It is part of the Butler Chain in Orange County. There was a report that the Windermere Drainage District prohibited weekend seaplane ops and touch-n-goes. This was incorporated into the SPA directory. When I contacted the Orange County Sheriffs Department about this (years ago) they were unaware of any such restriction on any of the Butler Chain lakes. SPA has not changed the entry.

As for Lake Louisa, it is not in the current SPA directory (available on line for members). A park ranger on the south side of the lake once told a seaplane pilot that the park was not open to seaplane operations. When I subsequently asked another park ranger, he was unaware of any restriction. Further, the bulk of the lake is outside of the park and unrestricted. So, as far as I'm aware, Lake Louisa can be used for responsible splashing, even in sinister SeaReys.

cool thanks Dan, so, is the entry about butler is incorrect in the restrictions to landing on
weekends and holiday's ?

Philip Mendelson - Jun 19,2011 Viewers | Reply
Troy, I have landed on the Butler Chain numerous times, I have had the Sheriff even wave from his boat....

Dan Nickens - Jun 19,2011 Viewers | Reply
I was never able to track down any such regulation, Troy. The reason I don't land there on holidays or weekends is because the lakes get really crowded.

Dan, no wonder WT is languishing in the hangar what with you
out playing with other sexier 'ladyreys' ....... she is going to be
most upset with your infidelity!!!!

Great shots ..... terrific subjects .....who was aiming the
weapon?

These shots are courtesy of Adam Yang, with Kerry flying him.

All it takes is a bit of smooth water to tame the beast? I don't think so! Attachments:

Beautiful bird and great photo's Dan. If this were the tech site, I would want to ask if keeping the engine cool in the florida heat with the cowling installed was a problem or not.

Dan Nickens - Jun 20,2011 Viewers | Reply
There wasn't any sweat on the pilot, Joe. So, socially speaking, I'd say it was cool enough to be 'no sweat.'

Dan, you are an expert with words.

Adam got some great pictures, Jim. If his business sense is as good as his photography, Progressive Aerodyne will surely prosper.
