It’s all brown and cactus and sand and mountains under blue skies with dry white clouds.      Attachments:

“Hear the mission bell?” This could be heaven or it could be hell. It is the Baja’s Hotel California.      Attachments:

The Todos Santos graveyard is gaily colored. Somber blacks or ambivalent grays were drowned in a riot of lively colors.      Attachments:

It’s dry now, but during a tormenta (thunderstorm) it could be full of water raging against being dropped in such a dry place.      Attachments:

It’s not just the cactus that makes the ground look uninviting.      Attachments:

The SeaRey was left at the La Paz airport pending a future negotiation with the local airport commandante concerning seaplane operations. As consolation, my wingman shared some turbine helicopter time.      Attachments:

This bay was recommended by the Airport Manager as a great place to take the little kids. It’s shallow, protected waters are warmed by the sun to something like a lukewarm bath.      Attachments:

The SuRi’s captain said to bring the SeaRey: he had found sheltered parking. Really? Sheltered for big boats, maybe. He was parked in between two islands in a beautiful venturi accelerating the ferocious wind to blustering megabursts.      Attachments:

Unbridled by bureaucracy and unafraid of the wild wind, a seagull is out for a late dinner.      Attachments:

With the last light rapidly fading, the gull turned and flew out its roost on the naked rocks.      Attachments:
