Getting into deep water at medium-low tide needs some power.

Taking off (with full fuel, two big bags, tools, parts, and plenty of et ceteras). Attachments:

Don, Ken may have lots of et ceteras, but remember the pilot weighs next to nothing.

Does anyone have an update on Ken?

Arrived safe and sound in ny, thanks Wayne. Don and carol were fabulous hosts. High winds most days
on the lake but got in a few rides for my cousins today. This is truly a life experience I wouldn't trade for
anything. Weather challenges and all.

    Ken,

Glad to hear you've made your destination; been on pins and needles wondering if you
were still in NJ-the last update I saw.

Sorry about Bubba in sSC, my experience with the SC Upstate folk is all positive.

Oh, the S.C. Police take a VERY dim view of seaplanes landing on the
beach....apparently there was a PGA tour going on nearby and I
apparently come across as a criminal because I got to experience a
good portion of 1960s southern cop abuse from captain bubba. A very
unpleasant hour later, I departed after capt machismo gave me his
'advice' to never return. He very much wanted to arrest me and cut
the plane up to haul it off 'his' beach but the FAA guy on the phone
didn't seem interested in providing him with a law I violated. My very
first beach landing and probably my last.

You are a Brave man Ken, I never thought of landing on the beach
before. At least you will have a great story to tell your grand kids some
day. Was it a good smooth surface ??

Joe, the tide had just gone out and it was hard...except that over an hour later after bubba had decided
that he would do me the favor of allowing an American citizen to continue to travel where he wanted,
when he wanted, it was dry and getting soft! The takeoff was far more exciting than I want to do again,
but no damage.
