This is the Mackinac Bridge. Identical construction as the Golden Gate Bridge, except 200 <br />or so feet longer than the GDB. The structure is breath taking!!!!! One lane is extruded <br />metal to allow the snow & Ice to be pushed thru by the cars & trucks, thus ensuring <br />passage during winter. See that large body of water? It freezes to a thickness 20 feet <br />during winter. Was in Michigan for 3.5 years, will never return :-) :-)

Sorry I didn't get a caption on this. Was trying to post from tablet up north with bad wi-fi service. That is the <br />mighty Mac. Sharon & I flew up from Boyne City along the coast line. Flew around Mackinaw Island and got <br />a nice shot of the Grand Hotel. Yesterday went up over Lake Charlevoix to watch the start of Thunder boat <br />races, then went back to the Boyne City airport for their first fly-in open house. Another great day in <br />northern Michigan.
